If you have already built a few models and are looking for a new challenge, this kit offers an opportunity to develop your ship modelling skills. The materials used in this wooden model largely match those of the original ship. The parts are assembled using glue and nails.
The plans supplied in the box guide you through construction step by step in English and Italian.

Ship history
Niña measured 18.3 metres in length, with a beam of 5.5 metres and a draught of 2.1 metres. She had three masts: square sails on the foremast and mainmast, and a lateen sail on the mizzenmast. Her displacement was 75 tons and her crew numbered 24.
Built in Spain in 1491, her official name was Santa Clara, but she was called Niña after her owner, Juan Niño de Moguer. She crossed the Atlantic at least five times. In 1492, she was the fastest ship in Columbus’s three-ship fleet, which set out to reach India by sailing around the world and reached the Bahamas on 12 October. After Santa Maria was wrecked on 25 December, Columbus transferred to Niña. She returned to Spain in 1496, was captured by Sardinian pirates and sailed to the Caribbean again in 1498, where her career ended.
