Archived event announcement – 2018

This article preserves the programme announced for the meeting on 22–23 September 2018. The dates and venue are historical information, not a current invitation.

Builders of historical sailing ship models were invited to Budapest for the 10th Hungarian National Meeting of Historical Sailing Ship Modellers. The host named in the announcement was József Pálvölgyi, also known as Hajós Joe.

The announced programme

Alongside meeting fellow modellers and exchanging ideas, the invitation proposed technical demonstrations, displays of models, books and plans, and computer-assisted model making. Suggested topics included timber selection, sawing, sanding, shaping planks, drilling, milling and turning.

A swap-and-sale session was also planned. According to the original invitation, participants in the specialist programme on 22 September were asked to bring a ship model, either completed or under construction. The Saturday afternoon and Sunday open sessions also welcomed interested visitors.
