History of the Soleil Royal Ship
Soleil Royal (“Sun King”) is the Sun King, XIV. It was the most decorated flagship of Louis‘s fleet, built in Brest at the end of the seventeenth century. Its gilded decorations and magnificent carvings symbolized the power of the French monarchy. It was not just a ship, but a floating symbol of royal power.
