Créac’h Lighthouse – Guardian of the Breton Coast
The Créac’h lighthouse was built in 1863 in the western part of Ouessant Island in the Brittany region of France. Its tower is 55 meters high, and its name means “promontory” in Breton. One of the most powerful lighthouses in the world, its light has a range of 32 nautical miles. On May 23, 2011, it was officially declared a historical monument.
