If you have already built a few models and are looking for a new challenge, this kit offers an opportunity to develop your ship modelling skills. The materials used in this wooden model largely match those of the original ship. The parts are assembled using glue and nails.
The plans supplied in the box guide you through construction step by step in English and Italian.

Ship history
The whaleboats of New Bedford were light and fast, with pointed bows and sterns that allowed them to reverse direction quickly. Their clinker-built hulls used rot-resistant cedar planks only half a centimetre thick, making the boats highly manoeuvrable.
A harpooned whale could tow a boat for miles at high speed before tiring. The return journey could take days, so water, food, tobacco, a mast, sails and a compass were always carried aboard.
